Midlothian Country Club
Midlothian Country Club is a private golf club, located 20 miles southwest of Chicago in Midlothian, Illinois. The historic club was founded in 1898 and has hosted a number of professional and amateur championships including Western Open Championships, Western Amateur Championship, and a US Open Championship.

The club is seeking several reliable, energetic employees who enjoy working in an outdoor environment. Seasonal positions are available for those seeking part- or full-time schedules. As part of the Grounds Department team at Midlothian, greenskeepers are under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents. Team members are responsible for providing a pristine golf course and grounds on the property. Responsibilities are focused on daily preparation of the golf course, which would include:
  • Mowing of all greens, tees, fairways, and rough using riding and walk-behind equipment as well as hand power equipment (i.e. string trimmers, blowers, etc)
  • Preparation of the golf course for play (cup cutting, trash collection, leaf and debris removal, watering, etc)
  • Preparation of sand bunkers (raking, weed and debris removal, etc)
  • Operation of utility vehicles to transport materials
  • Planting of flowers, trees, shrubs, seed and sod
  • Landscaping maintenance of all ornamental planting beds 
  • Many other duties and special projects as assigned
Job Requirements 


Greenskeepers are required to work outdoors, rain or shine; hot or cold; dust, soil, pollen, and debris. Punctual, early-morning attendance is required. No previous experience is necessary- we are willing and able to train you on a multitude of tasks based on your comfort level and experience.  

Other requirements include: 
-Possession of a valid driver's license 
-Occasional lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent lifting, bending, standing, kneeling, walking, and repetitive motions will be required. 
Work Schedule
This position is seasonal in nature and is available from April-November. Overtime hours on the weekend, we ask that you work one day per weekend. However, most shifts on weekends are 3-4 hours. 

Benefits
Pay range is $16-$20 an hour depending on prior experience
 

Lifeguard at Midlothian Country Club

Position is Seasonal (up to 30 hours a work week or more)

Job Summary: Lifeguards will ensure swimmers' safety in the pool area and administer first aid or lifesaving techniques when needed. Midlothian Country Club is considered one of the premier clubs in the Chicagoland area, and in the world. Working at Midlothian allows you to gain knowledge and develop great hospitality skills.

Reports to: Pool Manager

Essential Functions

· Ensure member and guest satisfaction around the pool, including but not limited to, safety, fun programming, first aid

· Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and uses automated external defibrillator (AED) when needed.

· Contacts emergency medical personnel when a serious injury occurs.

· Performs occasional pool cleaning and maintenance tasks such as vacuuming the pool and cleaning the drains.

· Be attentive and take quick action

· Register members at pool and ensures members are billed properly and accurately for all lessons, guests, etc.

· Enforce club safety and conduct rules

· Clean and restock bathrooms as necessary

· Restock towels as necessary

· Must be flexible, able to work under pressure, and deal with a diverse group of people

· Must collaborate with Lifeguard team to meet goals and deadlines

· Must be able to work under pressure

· Provides swimming lessons when needed.

· Must exhibit great communication, member service and interpersonal skills

  • · Must exhibit excellent observation skills
  • · Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Must be over age 16
  • Valid Lifeguard and CPR certification required
  • Ability to work August - September
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to administer or use first aid, CPR, AED, and other lifesaving techniques
  • Required to be outdoors for the duration of the shift, with exposure to the sun

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
